WHY DOES OUR PRACTICE USE THERAPIES?

If you’ve been to another Chiropractic office, you might have found that the adjustment is the only thing received during an office visit. We’ve found the healing process is expediated by the use of additional therapies. Not every condition is the same and each therapy is there to draw from in order to maximize healing during an office visit. To give an example: Joe presents to our office with a disc pain. We know because he’s recently received an MRI which showed an L4/5 bulge. If our only therapy was a facet mobilization, which is what the popping sound comes from, then we are not addressing the entire problem. There will be in almost every circumstance a muscle or tendon component. Therapies such as graston and ultrasound are great for addressing this and will eliminate the pull on the disc and joints. What good is the adjustment if the muscles are going to pull the joint out again a few hours after the adjustment is made?

During a session, the Chiropractor will draw from multiple therapies above that he or she feels will best help with the ailment being treated. Patient feedback is GREATLY appreciated and can help with focusing on the one that helps the most. For example, if the ailment is return too fast after a session, a deeper therapy might be used (e.g. graston) in order to better address the condition.

IS THERE AN ADDITIONAL COST?

Under most circumstances, the answer is no. Sometimes the therapies above are not covered under an insurance plan, but this will be explained prior to the office visit.
