WHAT IS THERAPEUTIC ULTRASOUND?
Ultrasound therapy (US) is the use of sound waves above the range of human hearing. There are many types of therapeutic ultrasound, using different intensities and frequencies of sound, but all share the basic principle of “stimulating” tissue. Vibration therapy, in other words, but in this case the vibrations are penetrating the tissue more than our Rapid Release machine can. The vibration also generates heat as far down as the bone, which is why it’s a great tool for deep muscle work.
WHAT IS (US) USED TO TREAT?
Typically, ultrasound can be used before or after a Chiropractic adjustment to loosen tight muscles. However, the therapy works great after Graston Therapy because the exact source of the myofascial pain syndrome can be identified and treatment can be more effective. Please see the tab Graston technique for more information! The following are the conditions most commonly treated using (US).
- Trigger Points
- Sprain / Strains
- Scar Tissue
- Pinched Nerve
- Bulging / Herniated Discs & More!
